The Couchlet Strikes Again

eWEEK.com - Fri, 2010-02-19 10:28
Just before the Apple iPad was released, I concocted my dream tablet. The couchlet was conceived of as a home-only device for enhancing personal entertainment. Readers suggested so many good additions to the couchlet that I share them with you here in the hopes that my tablet fantasies will spur some form of real couchlet.br/ - ... pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/rWm6V6nqvpYUiY8yhLmBhr-LCSM/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/rWm6V6nqvpYUiY8yhLmBhr-LCSM/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/rWm6V6nqvpYUiY8yhLmBhr-LCSM/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/rWm6V6nqvpYUiY8yhLmBhr-LCSM/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare" a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:yIl2AUoC8zA"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:V_sGLiPBpWU"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?i=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:7Q72WNTAKBA"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?d=7Q72WNTAKBA" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:dnMXMwOfBR0"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?d=dnMXMwOfBR0" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:qj6IDK7rITs"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:l6gmwiTKsz0"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?d=l6gmwiTKsz0" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.ziffdavisenterprise.com/~ff/RSS/tech?a=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:gIN9vFwOqvQ"img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/RSS/tech?i=WMPGaeh7eng:oKXqK4FU4Yk:gIN9vFwOqvQ" border="0"/img/a /divimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/RSS/tech/~4/WMPGaeh7eng" height="1" width="1"/

Microsoft, Yahoo Deal Will Boost Competition vs. Google, DOJ Says

eWEEK.com - Fri, 2010-02-19 09:49
The Justice Department's Antitrust Division Feb. 18 cleared the search engine agreement between Microsoft and Yahoo because the deal is likely to increase competition with Google. Echoing what Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said several times about the Microhoo deal, the DOJ said the transaction will improve Microsoft's ability to compete versus Google because it will give its Bing search engine more scale. Google commands 65 percent of search market share in the United States and a reported 90 percent share in Europe, making it easier for the DOJ and European Commission to OK the deal.br/ - The Justice Department's Antitrust Division said it cleared the search agreement between Microsoft and Yahoo because the deal is likely to increase competition with Google, which has racked up the lion's share of search over the last decade. Holy shit I’ve forgotten how to use Gimp and Inkscape it’s been so long. In fact, I still remember how to use them but they’ve changed so much! Luckily, they have so many awesome new features this strip took half the time to make - which brings the average down to a sweet 3.5 months or so. And GIMP now supports CMYK!! - expect ELER in printed book form by next Xmas! Assuming analogue books will still be available then. And that we have enough oil left to transport them around.

The hiatus was due to upstream. Though normal programming may or may not resume shortly. Promises will not be made, guarantees surely broken, hope sold on ebay.
